Bakersfield Blues Preservation Society: About Us; Mission Statement

The mission of the society shall be the formation and maintenance of a not-for-profit organization to reach out to the public, in order to provide education concerning the history and development of music, and more particularly "Blues", and all of its exponent music forms, and through education and promotion, work to preserve and foster it as a living, dynamic and truly American music form, and to carry on other educational, historical, and charitable activities associated with this goal as allowed by law.

The Society strategy is to reach out to educational entities and facilities, youth and senior organizations, and the public, in order to provide education concerning the history and development of these music forms, and use education and promotion, work, and carry on other educational, historical, and charitable activities to preserve and foster these music forms as living, dynamic and truly American music forms.
